April 19th is Garlic Day. I don’t know why this day was chosen. Perhaps it was on that day hundreds of years ago that Frederick Garlic, with a mouthful of his wife’s Italian cooking, tripped over his own two feet and fell face-first into a clove of garlic. Having discovered the missing ingredient to his wife’s bland cooking, Frederick dedicated his life to spreading the word on the wondrous food we now know as garlic. Thanks to his discovery and his efforts to share garlic with the world, we honor him on April 19.
This probably isn’t how garlic was discovered, nor why we celebrate Garlic Day on April 19. It still happens though. If you think about it, Garlic Day is the perfect day for email marketing.
